The Central Library of Jagiroad College was established in 1982, three years after the inception of the College. It began with a modest collection of books and has since grown substantially, now housing more than 28,000 volumes. Books are regularly acquired based on the recommendations of faculty members to ensure the relevance and enrichment of the collection. The automation of library services is well underway, enhancing efficiency and user convenience. In 2022, the Library introduced a Digital Library (Institutional Repository), which was further redesigned and upgraded in 2026. At present, the repository contains 165 documents.
The Library provides access to ONOS (e-resources) for its users. In addition, it subscribes to a wide range of academic journals, magazines, and newspapers to meet the diverse informational needs of students and faculty members.
The Central Library accommodates a spacious reading hall along with separate reading rooms for teachers and students. Recently, the Library has undergone renovation to create a more comfortable and user-friendly environment. Following the renovation, separate seating arrangements have been made for boys and girls. With improved and modern furnishings, the Library now includes a dedicated reading room for faculty members, a circulation section, a separate periodical section, an internet section, and a photocopy section. The Library is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity and provides seven (07) nos. of computers for users.
As part of its student support initiatives, the Central Library has introduced a Book Bank facility for the students. The Book Bank provides textbooks and reference materials to meritorious students and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The facility has been further strengthened through generous donations of books from internal stakeholders of the College, including teachers, non-teaching staff, and students. Interested students may contact the Librarian for further details.
